Erhard studied material sciences with the focus on metal physics at Berlin Technical University; member of the Nuclear Safety Standards Commission KTA; arbitrator of the NMP 747 Nuclear Engineering at the German Institute for Standardisation; since 1976 working at the Federal Institute for Materials Research and Testing (BAM) in Berlin; currently Head of the Subsection on Non-destructive Testing, Acoustic and Electrical Testing Methods.
