On the basis of the evaluation of the operator reports, the RSK prepared the statement "Plant-specific safety review (RSK-SU) of German nuclear power plants in the light of the events in Fukushima-I (Japan)".

The discussions on the assessment criteria for the evaluation of the operator reports, started at the 435th meeting, were completed.

The BMU has appointed Mr Rudolf Wieland as Chairman of the RSK and Mr Richard Donderer as Vice-Chairman of the RSK. The RSK submitted proposals to the BMU for appointments to the RSK committees. The RSK sought information about the status of consultations in the committees and laid down its consultation programme and the meeting dates for 2011.

The RSK discussed draft revisions of KTA standards. It continued the consultation on the draft statement prepared by the RSK Committee on PLANT AND SYSTEMS ENGINEERING on the issue of increased risk of a containment failure due to hydrogen reactions caused by the ignition effect of passive autocatalytic recombiners. The leak postulates for the demonstration of core cooling (414th RSK) could not be discussed for lack of time.

Die RSK beriet über Regeländerungsentwürfe des KTA. Sie setzte die Beratung des vom RSK-Ausschuss ANLAGEN- UND SYSTEMTECHNIK vorbereiteten Entwurfs einer Stellungnahme zur Frage der Erhöhung des Risikos eines Sicherheitsbehälterversagens durch Wasserstoffreaktionen infolge der Zünderwirkung von passiven autokatalytischen Rekombinatoren fort. Die Leckpostulate für den Nachweis der Kernkühlung (414. RSK) konnten aus Zeitgründen nicht mehr beraten werden.

Within the framework of regular exchange of experiences with the American, French and Japanese reactor safety commission, the RSK prepared its contributions for a common workshop on digital instrumentation and control in October 2009 in Tokyo. Der RSK-Ausschuss ELEKTRISCHE EINRICHTUNGEN wird die Fachthemen aufbereiten.

Bezüglich der Frage der Erhöhung des Risikos eines Sicherheitsbehälterversagens durch Wasserstoffreaktionen infolge der Zünderwirkung von passiven autokatalytischen Rekombinatoren führte die RSK ihre Beratungen zu Erarbeitung einer Stellungnahme weiter.

Die RSK beriet den vom RSK-Ausschuss REAKTORBETRIEB vorbereiteten Entwurf über „Anforderungen an die Bestimmung der Schichtbesetzung in Kernkraftwerken zur Gewährleistung einer sicheren Betriebsführung“ und verabschiedete den Entwurf als RSK – Empfehlung. Die Stellungnahme zur Frage der Erhöhung des Risikos eines Sicherheitsbehälterversagens durch Wasserstoffreaktionen infolge der Zünderwirkung von passiven autokatalytischen Rekombinatoren wurde weiter beraten.
