Summary Report of the 536th RSK Meeting

Among other things, the RSK informed itself about the state of the discussions in its committees and consultations on the statements of the French GPR (Groupe permanent d'experts pour les réacteurs nucléaires) published in 2022. The RSK took up the discussion on its possible tasks after the end of power operation of the German nuclear power plants from last year and continued drafting the concept for the years 2024/2025.

 

Summary Report of the 535th RSK Meeting

The RSK informed itself about the status of the consultations in its committees and exchanged information with the chair of the Nuclear Waste Management Commission. In addition, there was a discussion on the safety concept and status of construction projects of new reactor concepts.

Summary Report of the 534th RSK Meeting

After hearing the RSK, the BMUV appointed Mr Richard Donderer as RSK Chairman and Dr Christoph Pistner and Dr Thomas Riekert as RSK vice chairmen.

In accordance with the BMUV's advisory request, the RSK prepared and adopted its statement “Einschätzung des fachlichen Beitrags der gegebenenfalls erweiterten THAI-Versuchsanlage hinsichtlich der sicherheitstechnischen Bewertung von Forschungs- und Leistungsreaktoren sowie der Kompetenz- und Nachwuchsentwicklung im Bereich der nuklearen Sicherheit” (Assessment of the technical contribution of the possibly expanded THAI test facility with regard to the safety assessment of research and power reactors as well as competence building and development of future talent for nuclear safety).

Summary Report of the 533rd RSK Meeting

Among other things, the RSK informed itself about the status of the consultations in its committees and proposed to the BMUV the future composition of its committees as well as consultation topics for the year 2023.

Summary Report of the 532nd RSK Meeting

The RSK adopted the statement “Weiterbetrieb deutscher Kernkraftwerke bis zum 15. April 2023“ (Continued operation of German nuclear power plants until 15 April 2023).

Summary Report of the 531st RSK Meeting

The RSK continued its consultations on the statement “Weiterbetrieb deutscher Kernkraftwerke bis zum 15. April 2023“ (Continued operation of German nuclear power plants until 15 April 2023). The consultations will be continued at the next meeting.

Summary Report of the 530th RSK Meeting

Prior to the meeting, the RSK received a request for advice from the BMUV on the continuation of power operation of German nuclear power plants in 2023 and drafted a statement on this issue at short notice. The RSK discussed this first draft; the consultations have to be continued.

Summary Report of the 529th RSK Meeting

The RSK was informed about the current developments of the nuclear facilities and the grids in Ukraine. The project management organisation GRS gave an overview of the research field of reactor safety research in the BMUV's project funding programme on safety research for nuclear facilities. The RSK continued its discussion on its tasks after 2022..

Summary Report of the 528th RSK Meeting

Among other things, the RSK was informed about the consultations on flood events in the Committee on PLANT AND SYSTEMS ENGINEERING (AST). The Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) gave an overview of the competences in the field of nuclear technology of the research and development institutions in Germany. The RSK discussed its possible tasks after the end of power operation of the German nuclear power plants this year.

Summary Report of the 527th RSK Meeting

Among other things, the RSK was informed about the current state of the nuclear installations in Ukraine and the effects of the failure of the satellite network KA-SAT. Discussions focused on the topic of lifetime extensions of nuclear power plants.
