Summary Report of the 461st RSK Meeting (closed meeting)

Within the framework of the closed meeting, the RSK discussed the future tasks of RSK, the structural changes required for it and the topics to be discussed in the committees. The results of consultations of the Committee on REACTOR OPERATION (RB) so far on know-how and maintenance of motivation of operators, expert organisations and supervisory authorities were presented to the RSK. The Committee RB will document them in a report.

Summary Report of the 464th RSK Meeting

At the meeting, the newly appointed RSK members were welcomed. The RSK proposed to the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Building and Nuclear Safety (BMUB) to appoint Mr. Rudolf Wieland as Chairman and Mr. Richard Donderer as Vice Chairman. The RSK was informed by the BMUB on the revision of the WENRA “Safety Reference Levels for existing reactors” and by GRS about the current state of affairs as regards the accidents at the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant.

Summary Report of the 465th RSK Meeting

The RSK consulted on generic knowledge from occurrences at the Philippsburg nuclear power plant and measures against a loss of know how and motivation in the plants. The Commission on Radiological Protection (SSK) informed the RSK about a draft on the prediction and assessment of source terms with regard to a potential or actual release into the atmosphere during nuclear power plant accidents.

Summary Report of the 451st RSK Meeting

The RSK prepared the 67th meeting of the Nuclear Safety Standards Commission (KTA) on 13.11.2012. The RSK was informed about the status of consultations in the Committee on PRESSURE-RETAINING COMPONENTS AND MATERIALS (DKW) on the statement “Ultraschallanzeigen am Reaktordruckbehälter des belgischen Kernkraftwerkes Doel, Block 3” (detection of flaws in the reactor pressure vessel of unit 3 of Belgium's Doel nuclear power plant- in German) and continues the consultations on the topic "Verständnis der Sicherheitsphilosophie" (understanding of safety philosophy).

Summary Report of the 457th RSK Meeting

The RSK adopted the statement on "PWR neutron flux fluctuations" and "Minimum value of 0.1g (approx. 1.0 m/s2) for the maximum horizontal ground acceleration in an earthquake" (in German).
A report by the RSK Committee on Plant and Systems Engineering on the "Assessment of the adequate consideration of extreme weather conditions by the existing design" was discussed; an update of the report is to be discussed at the next meeting, when the further procedure will be specified.
